PARKSIDE RAMS FOOTBALL
COMMUNITY
If you would like to have some of our athletes join your school/classroom for Athletes as Readers and Leaders, please contact Head Coach Brendan Riley, [email protected].
The mission of the Parkside Rams Football Program is to foster community, collaboration, and leadership through our "All In" approach. We emphasize the importance of teamwork, respect for each individual role, and supporting one another to achieve collective success. Our program plays an active role in the community by supporting local organizations and promoting literacy, wellness, and physical fitness through initiatives like "Athletes as Readers and Leaders." We serve a diverse group of students, many from at-risk backgrounds, and strive to provide them with positive role models and opportunities for growth. By engaging with our younger students, we aim to inspire a love for learning, scholarship, and leadership, while helping to build stronger connections within our community.
Athletes as Readers & Leaders
Athletes as Readers and Leaders involves actual student athletes rather than professional stars to bring the important message of literacy, wellness, and physical fitness to our younger students. It fosters a love of learning and emphasizes scholarship and leadership. More importantly, the program provides realistic role models and goals to elementary students. It goes beyond most literacy and wellness programs by creating positive relationships through close interaction between high school athletes and elementary students.

2023 Baltimore Ravens Rising Stars Relay
Special thank you to the Baltimore Ravens Community outreach team for invite the program to participate in the 2023 Rising Stars Relay. Before every Ravens home game, two local schools—both boys and girls teams—will compete on the field at M&T Bank Stadium in an exciting relay race that tests their football skills against each other and the clock. Each school will be represented by five student-athletes.
The race begins with Player 1 sprinting from the 20-yard line, stiff-arming two tackling dummies, and running to the goal line to make the first handoff. Player 2 will then side shuffle through a series of agility bags to reach their teammate at the 20-yard line. Next, Player 3 will wear a running parachute and sprint to the goal line to pass off to the next runner. Player 4 will jump over a set of agility bags before handing off to the final contestant. The last leg of the race is a 20-yard sprint to the finish line, and the first team to cross the line wins the relay! |
